I got the news of Jemo’s sudden passing while on holiday in the US. Thank you for live streaming the service so we could share in your wonderful ceremony celebrating his life and loves and pay our respects virtually. I was moved by the obvious warmth and love everyone had for Jemo. He was not only a great teammate but a generous mentor and inspiration to those following him into the SCT squad in Rockwell. I met Steve in Bejing when I was working there with Emer in 2013/14. Emer and Steve were absolutely smashing people and we had some great evenings together. My stand out memory of Steve was the mounting excitment and then the utter devastation as we watched the All Blacks last gasp victory against Ireland in November 2013. We were literally crying into our beers. My sincere condolences to Emer, Lauren, and Dylan and may Steve rest in peace.

As a lifelong rugby fan I followed Stephen’s exploits on the rugby field with great interest and deep pride. He was a force of nature and respected so much on and off the rugby pitch.
He has left many lasting memories in his personal and sporting life. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and rugby fans.
