While talking to a good friend of Stephen’s today I learnt of his death. I was abroad the week he died. Sincere sympathies to Ber and all his family. Stephen did a lot of good work with Cork City Council. He was great company and a marvellous character.

I am so sorry to hear of the sudden and sad passing of Stephen. He made an enormous contribution to the development of Cork City during his time in Cork City Council. He had true empathy with the people of Cork and work hard to improve their quality of life in everything he did. He was a great source of support and advice to me over many years in my role as a member of Council and for that I will be especially grateful.
