We certainly experienced the highs & Lows of life on Sunday last. On a day and night when we celebrated the wonderful achievement of Boyne Rugby Club becoming Leinster League Champions, we arrived home to receive the terrible sad news of the passing of our friend and former neighbour, work, rugby colleague, Stephen McCluskey. We shared such wonderful times together with Stephen in W&C McDonnells and Delvin Rugby Club He was a tighthead prop and was very highly regarded, until a serious injury ened his playing career. He endured this injury with great bravery and never complained, receiving great support from his late wife Ger, RIP, and his family. He continued to enjoy the wonderful friendship and great comaraderie which we all shared & enjoyed those days in W&C McDonnells. He was exceptionally erudite & was part of one of the top quiz teams in the town of Drogheda, the four of whom were workmates in W&C McDonnells, sadly, now all deceased. Stephen was also the ATGWU Shop Steward in W&C McDonnells and represented his fellow workers with respect and dignity for many years. His convivial human nature extended long after the times we shared in W&C McDonnells and his personable manner endeared him to so many throughout his life. We were so fortunate to have shared his friendship for many of those years and with his family and many friends now sadly lament his passing.
To Erica and Conor and the extended family we offer our most sincere sympathy.
