I worked with him, played football with him and drank with him and listened to him put the world to rights many times over the years. steve, or Krusty as we at LUL called him, was a unique soul and will be sadly missed.
I was lucky enough and honoured to call you my friend and colleague
I first met Steve at London Undergorund in the early 90s
I was a wet behind the ears finance recruit, and was faced with an LUL project form known as the yellow peril
Steve very quickly put my mind at rest and told me it was a piece of cake to complete
I then played football for many years with him, he was a very good footballer
We had many many good laughs both on the field and after in the pub
And have caught up a few times at Jaspal's stag do and wedding etc
He and Jaspal loved to do karaoke and if ever there were a group of ladies out for a drink they would always break into song
I hope all the Moran family are able to take comfort in the condolence messages posted here
Rest easy big man

So sad to hear of the passing of Steve, my sincere condolences go to all his family.
Steve was a true legend, and I, like so many others were privileged to have him as a friend. I have so many happy memories of working, playing sport and socialising with Steve. He was a mentor to me when I first moved to London and began working at London Underground, and I cant thank him enough for everything he taught me.
You made so many people so happy Steve - you will be missed but never forgotten. RIP

Sincere sympathy to all Steve's family.
Such an amazing man who drew so many of us into his company, usually over a beer or two.
It was a privilege to share your wedding in The Isle of Man and meet you lovely family.
It was great to be able to share our countryside with you (NZ).
Glad to have had a catch up just a few months ago over the phone.
Will always remember you and welcome any of your family over here (whenever life gets back to some form of normality).

Sincere sympathy to Stephens family and the extended Moran family on Stephen passing. May he rest in peace.
I've lost my best friend. For the last 25 years Steve has been my rock, we laughed through the good times and got each other through some rocky times. Through out, Steve's wisdom and joy for life was an inspiration to me. I am God Father to Erin and Steve was Best Man at my wedding - we were always there for each other.
I promise to keep an eye out for Paul, Jake, Tom & Erin and help them wherever I can - just like Steve helped me
As Steve always used to say to me and now it's my turn to say to Steve:
May the road rise to meet you
May the wind always be on your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hand

Steve had that wonderful gift of lifting spirits simply by entering a room. No problem was ever able to suppress his smile or his laugh. I can see him now, I can still hear his voice.

Steve was friend for almost 30 years and former colleague in London Underground, and we extend our sympathies to his family in Waterford, his daughter Erin and sons Tom and Jake in the Isle of Man and his son Paul in London.
It has been a great bonus of moving to Ireland that Jo and I could reconnect with Steve who had been a welcome visitor to us in West Cork and we could also meet up with him in his historic city of Waterford. Founded by the Vikings it is Ireland's oldest city and I could never refer to it as a town in his company. On one of his trips to #Dunmanway we enjoyed a lovely evening with Comhaltas in Sam Maguire's old homestead of Mallabracca. When the call for songs went around the room Steve sang an old Irish Ballad. I was astonished for I had no inkling of him being into Trad and when I asked him he said that he last heard it from his mother.
He had been hugely brave and positive in his travails and the last time we met with him in Waterford he booked us in for a Sunday Roast in the Granville Hotel, the best hotel in town with a lovely dining room. That is the way he wanted us to remember him, with good cheer, conversation and the clinking of glasses.
To those who knew him Steve was a legend who has left us with many warm memories. #RIP

Rest in Peace Steve. I'll always remember your friendship, the many games of football and golf along with your huge zest for a good time. Gill fondly recalls that twinkle in your eyes and that charm of your countrymen. You made us smile....
