The Lovely Blonde Hair, The Warmest of Smiles and he dressed in Black, The Kindness and Gentleness of Character....These are my most treasured memories of Stephen, 'Knuckles', and the fun we had when young and carefree.. and me asking 'What is the name of your band' and he says 'I Forget' and it all got confusing.. as I asked again.. and So, we sat side by side in class and we and classmates had the craic with him and his Great friends from Kilkenny as we Supposedly studied Science in Carlow RTC.. Aah,.. time has passed... it was so long ago but memories of Knuckles are treasured n now revived... Life is just too short.. Take care Claire, He's a treasure and loved by all who met him. x and so appreciate that ' I Forget' can be watched on You Tube.

Stephen was a big influence on us ‘80s Kilkenny teenagers with his band I Forget playing concerts and appearing on TV. A great musician and collaborator, always quick with a solution or idea, very generous and flexible. He is sorely missed, we are lucky to still have his music. Condolences to Claire, Ralph, Anthony and all the family.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Stephen's passing. We first met working together on the Youth Affairs Show on Radio Kilkenny. Stephen was such a genuine, kind person and very supportive to me and many others on the music scene in Kilkenny. Even though we hadn't met in many years I have very fond memories of him. I met Stephen in August 23 when I joined Glen Dimplex and within the first week, he told me he was retiring at the end of the month. It was a bit of shock to lose someone of Stephen’s experience so soon after joining but Stephen was professional to the end and worked hard to leave no lose ends with a special focus on the people who worked with him. The consummate professional and true gentleman! While I knew Stephen only for a short period of time, he had a big impact on me and it’s obvious he'd a similar impact on everyone in his life. May he rest in peace.

So many fond memories of I Forget rehearsals and gigs back in the late 80s when Stephens guitar rang out. Sincere Condolences to all the Sheehan family.

With Canadian cousins in tow, we landed in Kilkenny on a quiet school night but Stephen and Claire made it a night we will continue to cherish as a fab memory of wonderful hospitality, top craic and much laughter, a top highlight of a great holiday. Stephen's warmth and sense of fun always moved social gatherings up a gear or two. He will be sorely missed.

To Claire and all of Stephen's family, we were very saddened to learn of the loss of Stephen, he was such a gentle soul but had such a great appreciation and zest for life. Our thoughts are with you all at this incredibly difficult time.

We've been so fortunate to have known Stephen since we all met on our honeymoons in 1997. He's always been so gentle with a great sense of humour and we have been left with many happy memories.
We shared a love of rugby, food and big laughs.

Very sad news indeed . I knew Steven growing up with the music scene back in the 80s , we played in different bands and were into guitar and amps and stuff. Always found him a gent and decent with his time and chats . Rest well .
