Sincerest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to Mike and Paul on the loss of a great son and brother in Stephen, tragically stolen from us here in The Park yet again, in being taken far too young.
Ballygologolue Park has been besetted with a lot of tragedy and we have lost our best and most respected recent times. Stephen is another sadly.
I was close friends, particularly from 1982 - 1985 with Stephen in our childhood memories, up behind Moore's at the Top Park at The Little Oak Tree in our younger years as farmland was being summer harvested. Stephen was a quirky, fiercly independent and a deep thinking boy back then, his love for stunts on his Raleigh bmx bike, his admiration for Evel Knievel, Stephen liked the challenge and the risk. A very intelligent man he always was, and you could always talk to him about anything in life, conversations were always thought provoking with him.
He had a brilliant mind in fact, always kept to himself but was always on hand to help others too. He encapsulated the good guy, he was always a gentleman.
He'll be sorely missed by us all here in The Park and especially by his family.
May our prayers and reflection be support to Mike and Paul.
He is with his beloved mum, Ann now.
