I worked directly with Stew in the Dublin dealing room after returning from AIB Treasury London in 1992. We had some unreal times working on his commercial paper sheet through the ensuing interest rate crisis. Stew helped me settle back into Ireland and was a great support and huge fun to work with. A gentleman who will be sadly missed. RIP
So sorry to hear of Stewart’s passing. I worked with Stew in AIIB and AIB. He was a gentleman,kind and good fun. Always spoke of Angela and his lovely children. Sincere condolences to all the family.

Stewart was a wonderful brother, and I have happy memories of time in Aberystwyth with Mum, Dad and many friends. It was fantastic that Stewart and the family were able to come and see us all in Cardiff in February 2025. I'll miss his 9 o'clock phone calls! Stewart is now at peace with Angela.

Stewart was a diamond,we worked together in 80s ,I remember him very fondly,a kind generous decent man,we had some great days, he was always empathetic and considerate

Being next door neighbours on Joyce Avenue to this wonderful couple for many years, we have fond memories of many social escapades including barbecues with a glass of wine or two on summer evenings in their beautiful garden which both of them nurtured (manicured) with loving care.

To Stewart's family, so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing.
He was so much a part of our Clontarf 'gang' growing up in the '60s and 70's'. He even arranged a re-union for many of us in 2020!
His nickname 'Bach' was because of his Welsh connections and probably given to him by the late 'Chunkie' Appleyard !! (They'll be having a good old 'jemember the time' together now along with Angela).

We will never forget Stewart & Angela. Friends for many years, we have great memories of so many happy times shared. Stewart had a wonderful personality, optimistic, non complaining, placid & fun. My deepest sympathy to Gareth , Alun and all the family on the passing of Stewart. I first knew Stewart in the late 1970s in his role in AIIB and met him at numerous hockey matches over the last 30 years. He was always a pleasure to deal with in business and excellent company at hockey matches when we were normally on opposite sides of the fence.
