I worked directly with Stew in the Dublin dealing room after returning from AIB Treasury London in 1992. We had some unreal times working on his commercial paper sheet through the ensuing interest rate crisis. Stew helped me settle back into Ireland and was a great support and huge fun to work with. A gentleman who will be sadly missed. RIP

Stewart was a wonderful brother, and I have happy memories of time in Aberystwyth with Mum, Dad and many friends. It was fantastic that Stewart and the family were able to come and see us all in Cardiff in February 2025. I'll miss his 9 o'clock phone calls! Stewart is now at peace with Angela.

He was so much a part of our Clontarf 'gang' growing up in the '60s and 70's'. He even arranged a re-union for many of us in 2020!
His nickname 'Bach' was because of his Welsh connections and probably given to him by the late 'Chunkie' Appleyard !! (They'll be having a good old 'jemember the time' together now along with Angela).

I first knew Stewart in the late 1970s in his role in AIIB and met him at numerous hockey matches over the last 30 years. He was always a pleasure to deal with in business and excellent company at hockey matches when we were normally on opposite sides of the fence.
