Susan Doody

Deepest sympathies to Susan’s loved ones and family. Was so sorry to hear the news only last week. I had the privilege of having Susan, as my teacher in the late 80’s.
She was one of my favourite teachers ever, a wonderful person, full of empathy, boundless energy and wit. I fondly remember that year and her fantastic array of sweets, which were ( happily)always around!

A class act in every sense of the word.

Miss Doody was my teacher in first class in 1976-77 in Presentation Primary school in Terenure. I remember her so fondly as the kindest and most caring and also most glamorous (!) of teachers.
Her kindness shown to me particularly at the passing of both my grandparents that year stayed with me for a long time afterwards.
I have always felt so lucky to have been in her class.
Thank you Miss Doody today and every day. Rest now in peace.

Miss Doody, an amazing educator with such a kind heart. An absolute lady, was so sorry to hear of her passing, as an ex pupil of Presentation Primary school.

I was so saddened to hear of sudden and untimely passing of Susan. My deepest condolences go out to her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her. Susan was a truly professional principal teacher and an exceptional person. I had the privilege of getting to know and work with Susan for a number of years, twenty five years ago during the early years of the Irish Primary Principals' Network and I will always remember her remarkable personal qualities and the profound kindness she extended to everyone she met.
Susan’s dedication to her profession was evident, but it was her genuine warmth and compassionate spirit that truly set her apart. She touched so many lives with her gentle nature and unwavering support. Her legacy of kindness and professionalism will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Miss Doody was a teacher for me in 1976&7. I was delighted to have her for another year. I adored her.. she was such a loving woman. And by god she was glamorous 🥰. She spotted Scarlet fever in me and got me home to bed safe and sound. All above comments says it all. I can say no more. My aunt, Doreen Agnew was a elacution teacher while I was in the school and always spoke so highly of her. Even in recent years. She was legendary ❤️. RIP miss Doody. 🙏🏼

I have just tuned in from Helsinki for the lovely and fitting celebration of Susan’s life. I was so sorry not to be able to attend in person.

I taught alongside Susan for many years in Presentation Terenure and exchanged some ‘dry art’ and ‘hard maths’ lessons when we taught next door to each other. We had some great laughs!

She was my complete and utter role model as principal. Susan was loyal and appreciative to all her staff, teaching and non-teaching. She made us smile and laugh, while all the time keeping the children’s wellbeing at the heart of everything she did. Her soirées were legendary.

Was so sorry to hear about the passing of Susan. I had the privilege of working in Presentation with Susan as my principal after I left college and she left a lasting impression on me. She was a wonderful principal, so kind and caring who looked after her staff so well, I’ll always remember her “soirées” such fun. I was delighted when I got the opportunity to work with her again upon my return from travelling in Australia. She leaves an incredible legacy. Greatly shocked & saddened by this news of Susan's untimely death. I had been speaking to her quite recently. Lasting memories of our college days & life in Dublin in the 70s . Susan was such a big part of that life. She will be remembered with love.

Myself and my colleague,Tom Kennedy, carried out safety talks with each Class, in Terenure Presentation, school when Susan was principle. We all got on wonderfully well with each other. Susan was a really gifted Teacher and Principal
