Dear Brigit, Christian, Tobias and Beatus,

Murray and I have shared many memories of Susanne, and Duffcarrig, in these last few days. So many seeds for our lives were sown there, and strongly influenced by Susanne : bread baking ( Peter), lyre playing and making, a love of weaving, gardening.
Susanne had a kind, perceptive realism that held together the many elements of the community, with her ability to listen and accompany each person she met.
We enjoyed the opportunity to meet again in 2006, when we were last in Ireland.
It was a gift to witness the service at the crematorium. Thank you.

Sending love to you all, as you feel her presence in another way, in memories, stories, perhaps in poetry.
My heartfelt condolences to Susanne's family. The last time I saw Susanne was in the hospital, where we watched a beautiful sunset over the trees nearby. Susanne radiated peace and there was a sense of a farewell. We had a gentle chat, for which she thanked me. Such a wonderful person.
I left in peace and with gratitude, feeling she was at ease with the journey ahead.
Deepest sympathy to Susanne's family and the wider Camphill community on the loss of such a wonderful person. Susanne always had an interest in those both around her and the ones "just visiting". She had a powerful memory, great insight and will be remembered with love. RIP
May Susanne rest in eternal peace
We remember with fondness our visits to Duffcarrig, when we lived in County Wexford in the early 80s. She was a warm and welcoming presence.
My condolences to all of the Elsholtz family and closest relatives on the sad passing of Suzanne and may she rest in peace.
I'm so sorry i couldn't be with the family in person today but i watched the livestream and saw Brigid, Tobias, Christian and Beatos -- all grown-up. I will miss Susanne and always treasure what she did for us and gave us all in Duffcarrig over the years. Andrew, a villager from the 70s and 80s
So sorry to hear about Susanne’s passing. She was such a very sweet, kindly and gentle lady. May she rest in peace.
Our sincere condolence to Susanne's family. Susanne was a wonderful strong but gentle person. She always had a kind word for us when we .needed it. We wont see her like again.
Rest easy Susanne.
Tina and Noel Keane.
My deepfelt condolences to family and friends. I will remember Susanne for her kindness and hospitality. She'd put her mark on this world and in the people she met and cared so much for.
Deepest sympathy to all Suzanne 's family. Such a lovely lady.
Dear family and friends of Susanne,
We are with you with heart-warm thoughts as you accompany dear Susanne on her way into the spiritual world. On a visit made to her in October she lent us the book "Blood Brothers", rather as a legacy which she was leaving for peace in the world.
May the Christmas light give you strength into the New Year.
With greetings,
Sincere condolences to all the Elsholtz family for the sad loss of Susanne. With gratitude I experienced her genuine interest for people and will treasure these conversations. Susanne has been a true teacher and gentle guide.
My sincerest condolences to all of Susannes family and friends. I was so sad to hear of her recent passing. I have had the pleasure of meeting her a few years ago when i started working in Kyle and on my ongoing visits to kyle over the last few years. I always remember her gentle personality and the peace and calm she showed all of us. She always had some very thoughtful and deep words for every situation and when i left kyle to go studying she gifted me a book with thoughtful words for every day of the year. I am still reading it today and it has inspired me so much. I will always remember her kind and beautiful soul as will everyone she met as she has touched so many people..may her beautiful soul rest in peace 💔
Sincere sympathy to all of Susanne's family. A wonderful lady who radiated kindness with every word and smile.
Heartfelt condolences to all of Susanne’s family and to all who were privileged to know and love her. For the few short years we resided close by Camphill Kyle she was a dear and wonderful neighbour and became Evelyn’s soul friend in love of gardening and Nature in general. We will always treasure the memories.
On behalf of the board and management of Camphill Communities of Ireland (CCoI) I offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends on the sad passing of Susanne. At a time when there were many gaps in the support services being provided by the Irish State Susanne and her colleagues actually didn't stand around - they did something to close those gaps. A pioneer in establishing Camphill - she truly did the 'State' a service.
May the memories you have of Susanne help you through these difficult times.
May Susanne now rest in peace.
Dear Brigit, Christian, Tobias, Beatus, and family.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your beloved mother, Susanne.

Fifty years ago, I had the privilege of living in Duffcarrig with my own mother, Kathrine, and my sister, Helen. Last year, I said goodbye to Helen after a short period of illness. In reflecting on her life, we often spoke about the cherished time we spent in Duffcarrig.

Those years remain close to my heart, as do the memories of all of you.
I remember the shipwreck on the beach our secret, forbidden playground, the joy of selling vegetables to the nearby campground with the donkey and cart, and the celebrations when the nuns brought the children for St. John’s festivities. And of course, how Tobias, Beatus, Helen, and I made up the little group of four pupils at the school during the two years we lived in Duffcarrig.

Your mother, Susanne, is someone I will always remember with warmth and fondness. She was welcoming, caring, and full of light, a true source of comfort and kindness to those around her.

Please know that my thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. May the love and memories she shared with you bring you solace in the days ahead.

With warm regards,
Christine Joiner

Susanne: friend, colleague and example to all of us of how to live Camphill and inspire other people.

I owe the entire Elsholtz family, especially Susanne and her late husband Peter enormous gratitude for their simply amazing generosity of spirit and kindness for having my late brother Hugh to stay with them for years at Camphill Village Community in Duffcarrig, Ballymoney which they founded so many years ago.

Susanne and Peter opened their doors and their hearts to many whose illnesses prevented them from integrating fully elsewhere. I felt ashamed and frustrated at not being able to cope my own brother Hugh’s illnesses which included severe epilepsy, when he needed a real and safe home. But one phone call to Peter with a cry for help was met with an immediate request to bring him to Duffcarrig to join that wonderful ‘home from home’ which gave so many handicapped people a wonderfully inclusive family life, greatly helped by the entire Elsholtz family giving their own young growing up years to the same cause.

Susanne, we know that with Peter, you set up such Camphill Village Communities all over the place, in Northern Ireland, Wexford, Kilkenny and even abroad. It is not an exaggeration to regard both of you as modern day saints, modest in all of your massive achievements and kindnesses to others, for which hundred and hundreds of people will be forever grateful. I was so heartened to learn that you died after a long life, peacefully and pain-free, surrounded by your extended family.

Thank you all from Charles Dudley, Kilanerin.
To all her many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her friends and Camphill family my deepest sympathy. Suzanne was to many a mentor and friend and important in my move to Ireland.
Rest in peace beautiful soul❤️thank you for Camphill Duffcarrig and my 7 years there.
I knew Susanne from my time in Duffcarrig Camphill Community near Gorey, Co. Wexford. She was kind, strong & wise. She made a beautiful garden for all to share there.

May she rest in peace.
Dear family of Susanne,
my sincere sympathies on your loss. I met Susanne when I started volunteering in Camphill Kyle in 2013. I got to meet up with her again on my visit to Ireland around Easter and shared my German Osterbrot with her. I always felt very welcome and Susanne was always eager to know what happened in my life ever since I last met her. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.
Fondly remembered as a friend of over 50 years. Sharing so many memories also about Peter, her late husband. Her ability to listen to the concerns of others and her modesty will be missed and maybe an inspiration to others. Christoph and Uta (on their way to South Africa)
Susanne was a such an extraordinary wonderful person. I am glad that she was able to start her last journey peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. My thoughts are with her family.

I am grateful that Susanne was in my life and that of my mum. I thank Susanne for her wisdom, her big heart, her inner peace and her enchanting kindness. She will always be in my heart.
Dear Elsholtz family, my sincere sympathies on your great loss, also to the wider community. I always enjoyed meeting Susanne at many local events and having very good chats, she seemed very wise. I'll miss her. I'm glad she was well until the end, could be at home and that I can pay my respects in person. Fuair sí cuireadh na Nollag (she received the Christmas invitation).
Dear family of Susanne Elsholtz!
Thank you all for making it possible to be at Susanne‘s bedside at her passing! What a gift to be so accompanied!
We met Susanne at Camphill Hermanus in 2000 and then again when we moved there in 2004. Susanne was my „friend“ to introduce me to the Camphill Inner Community. What a special friend to have had and listening to one‘s life story through her eyes - so much love and understanding for every individual streamed from her!
We are sending our love and condolences to all of you!

Sincere Sympathy to the Elsholtz Family at this sad time. Susanne was a gentle, kind person who loved the rural lifestyle and did so much work behind the scenes for all the Camphill Community. May Her Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.
I know many people who have been through the doors of Camphill , have grown & have become independent in their lives . They have benefited so much from Susanne who was a trail blazer, had the foresight to set up the Camphill Community & gave selflessly to the users of that service over many years. We will forever be grateful to her . My sympathies are with Suzanne’s family who have lost a very special person. We all have , may she be rewarded for her good worldly deeds & may she rest in eternal peace .
I was very lucky to have met such a loving and caring person when i moved here u will be missed our laughs we had picking strawberries
