Suzanne Barry

Dear Joy, I only heard this week of your beloved Mum’s passing. Thinking of you and your wider family at this saddest of time for you all. Your Mum raised a beautiful daughter and I have no doubt that she was always so proud of you. Keep her close in your heart during these difficult days and she will give you strength. May she rest in peace.

I first met Suzanne twenty years ago, when I was working with a dance company based in Wexford town. She taught us yoga, and so so much more. She spilled into an infectious giggle every time I did a downward dog and would say 'dancers don't like to stay still, do they?' as I would move and wiggle into the position. It was the best yoga class I had ever taken. Hard core, very physical & strong, and restorative.

Suzanne was a beautiful, kind, generous and creative spirit. I was lucky to meet and work with her sister, Orla, later down the line. They have the same smile, and the same giggle.

I was extremely moved by the funeral service, and particularly by her own eulogy. What a powerful, strong woman.

I woke this morning and thought of you. I went onto your FB page and saw when your last post was. I feared the worst which was confirmed on RIP. You have now passed over dear Suzanne. I know you journed well, inspired many and lived till you died! Until we meet again.......

When I think of Suzanne I think of her love of the sea and swimming and that’s where I often bumped into her, on the beach about to take a dip on Cullenstown strand or Blackhall. She was also my first yoga teacher and a brilliant one too. Her laughter filled classes were the highlight of my week for many years and I am so grateful for this time with her. Rest in peace Suzanne. ❤️
