How do I even begin?
I lost my Maamu… the youngest of them all. Fierce, daring, full of life, and the most reckless in the best way. His laugh—it still echoes in my ears, like a song that refuses to fade.

Your letters to Mummy with pictures of your two girls remain with me … that’s how the connect began with them, back then across borders!!
I am glad we still have that bond …

That’s how I want to remember him. Not in silence, but in laughter. In bold choices, in loud shirts, in unforgettable moments. Your fishing journey … et all

P.S. – Your printed silk shirts? I wore them like they were my own back in my early 20s… and I felt invincible, just like you.

Taqi uncle was the brother of my paternal grandmother, who we called Bibi.

He was born and raised in Hyderabad, India. He moved to Ireland and lived there for many years.

I had communicated with him some years ago and he was very friendly and inquisitive about the whereabouts of his relatives that he grew up with in India. I shared with him photos and addresses which he appreciated.

I am saddened to hear about his passing but I am happy that he lived a full life of nearly 80 years. My best wishes to his wife and daughters.
