Dear Rose, Tony and all of Syl's extended family.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Syl's passing.
It was such a pleasure working with Syl, always full of laughter, kindness and warmth. He had a way of making everyone feel at ease, and his happy nature was infectious. I’ll always remember his beautiful singing voice -it brought so much joy and will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to hear it.
Thinking of you all and sending my heartfelt sympathy during this difficult time.

Condolences to Rose and all the family. I knew Syl since the days of Tara racing. As soon as he entered the shop, he lifted everyone's spirits. He had a kind word for everyone, a joke and even a few bars of a song. I can honestly say I never saw him in bad form (even when his horse got beaten!). What a great guy he was.

Dad you were certainly loved by everyone. Because your such a gentleman. kind caring charismatic. Energetic. Just such a lovely way about you. Syl was an absolute gentleman; kind, patient, thoughtful, caring, funny and unbelievably positive. I have lovely memories of driving to Howth with him on a Friday morning and stopping off for tea and sharing a breakfast sandwich with him. My thoughts are with his equally beautiful and beloved wife Rose, his family, and all who loved him and whose lives were made all the better simply for knowing him. Rest in peace Syl xxx
