My mother thought so much of him - the only man who came to repair our washing machine and he never let her down.

Tadhg was a brave and fearless soldier who with his comrades faced fearful odds in battle and never flinched. Their escapades in battle have been admired, lauded and have been the subject of praise and admiration in many military studies. Military organisations heaped honour on the Irish soldiers and copied their tactics. Regrettably, such honour was, unbelievably, not acknowledged at home until recent years, much like the Biblical prophet in his own land. May Tadhg and his brave comrades rest in the peace and eternal reward of Heaven where there is fairness and honour without distinction.

I was very sorry to hear about Tadhg's passing. He was a lovely man and a real gentleman. I have great memories of various activities with him around the farm on the short times that I spent there. He had great fun laughing at me when I got head butted by a cow into a pile of shite. That one will stick with me.
