I worked with Ted, as a volunteer with parish SVP. He was a gentlemam.

My very deepest sympathies to Ted’s bereaved family - may his gentle soul rest in peace.

I only met Ted once (quite recently, when I was canvassing in Carrigoran during the general election) but he made an impression on me. He was razor sharp and wanted to know if I was Sam Crowe’s grandson as he had brought electricity to Sam’s isolated house during his years on the Rural Electrification Scheme. We also chatted about rugby and our shared love for Shannon RFC.

The house that Sam Crowe lived in is abandoned now and hasnt had occupants for over 30 years but thanks to Ted the lights still turn on when you enter the kitchen!

Although I didn’t know Ted, I enjoyed (and will always remember) that chat I had with him and the photo we took afterwards.

Thinking and praying for your family

I hope the lights of heaven illuminate for Ted. Rest in peace Ted.

I first got to know Ted as a neighbour in Janesboro growing up. We lived in Colbert Ave., just around the corner from the Heaslips. But our family also had the pleasure of knowing Ted as fellow members of Shannon. He was a great clubman. He was an absolute gentleman and always had a kind word for a young fella like me.
