More importantly Ted was a very warm, kind, friendly individual who greeted everyone with a big smile.

Ted was a great and talented musician may he rest in peace

I remember especially fondly those heady musical days of the 80s and 90s in McGinleys when we would always look forward to Ted playing in his various groups. He was a true musical maestro, but more than that, he was a sweet gentleman with a sublime sense of humour and a toastie-warm heart. I feel privileged to have known him for all those years. A true legend, RIP.

I am so incredibly sorry to hear of Ted's passing. What a phenomenally talented man who will forever be remembered as such. His music will live on in his recordings and in our hearts. I send deep condolences to his wife Maryline, his daughter Sarah, and his entire family. May his talented and sweet soul forever rest in peaceful slumber.

Marylin, Sarah and family, I can’t imagine how ripped apart you must be. It is bad enough for the rest of us. I have only just realized the extent of the effect Ted had on so many people. OK, we all knew he was an incomparable guitar and dobro player, and that his humour was really “out there”, but it is his boundless kindness, quick empathy and selfless consideration, the way he looked after so many of us for so many years, that I am referring to, in that way he is really part of many of us. He had the most enormous, beautiful heart and we are all so lucky to have known him. I would say “he touched so many people”, but I can imagine his seriously dodgy laughing response to that. I did not expect this to happen, it is a terrible tragedy, and I can only wish that this particular sudden end somehow saved him from further suffering down the road.

So sorry and deeply saddened to hear about Ted. Many people will have great memories of his music, and also his witty comments, as I also have. When we were all growing up in the Oldtown we all knew each other and Ted’s musical talent was already well known at that stage because of all the practicing in the house with the windows open. You’d hear it a mile away 😄. It was great as we were all young and loved music. Great times. Thank you for that Ted.
