Ted Sweeney

We are so sorry. We have so many fond memories with Ted - a gentle man who taught us about our Irish history and family as well as entertaining us with his beautiful music. Killeshandra won't be the same without him, but he will live on in you all. We will keep you in our thoughts. Lots of love always, Charlotte, Abigail and Jackie x

We were fortunate to have met Ted at the Hayes pub Thursday evening music sessions
and being warmly invited to join on the piano. Remembering the chat one evening about
Rabbie Burns tunes with Ted recommending Westlin' Winds. Listening again is both lovely and sad,
the emotional power of music with fine words and tune - a good song choice Ted, for sure.

I remember too before taking up the fiddle playing myself, asking Ted about the instrument -
"it's an unforgiving instrument and not always do what you ask of it" says Ted.
But he had the mastery of the instrument when sharing the joy of the tunes. Rest in Peace.

Siobhán we were sorry to hear about the sad and untimely passing of Ted out deepest condolences to all the family.

Shocked and saddened to have just heard of Ted's passing. He was a perfect gentleman and we had a wonderful week together in Connecticut many years ago when he travelled over with his group to play for me at Blackrock Castle for the St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
