My most sincere condolences to Prof O'Reilly's family. What a great teacher and person we had in him, what a great love of Spain, Spanish and the Golden Ages he shared with those of us fortunate enough to benefit from his teaching....what methodical and encourging corrections and comments on all of our undergrad and postgrad work. A true gentleman, may he rest in peace
I am so deeply saddened to hear of Terry's passing. A beautiful soul with such kindness and sincerity. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Sincere sympathy to all of Terry O'Reilly's people and friends. His gentle presence will be missed by many especially in the portals of Lough Parish Chapel.

Liam P. and Marian Ó Murchú.
Terry was the consummate academic, devoting himself quietly to teaching and research, steering well clear of the futile controversies of academic politics. Softly spoken and self-effacing, he was a fine scholar and trusted friend. My sincere sympathy to his family.
The only things that could ever have outshone Professor O'Reilly's academic brilliance were the kindness and generosity he showed to everyone he taught and worked alongside.
I am so thankful that I knew him.
May he rest in peace, and my deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
My sympathies on the passing of your father. Terry was an absolute gentleman and it was always a pleasure to meet him on campus. Reunited now with Jennifer in heaven. May he rest in eternal peace.

To Michael, Tom and all the extended O'Reilly family. We were very sorry to hear of Terry's passing RIP. He was a true gentleman, very kind, wise and had a lovely gentle soft spoken manner. UCC staff and students were truly blessed to have both Terry and Jennifer as teachers, as both were highly regarded scholars, dedicated caring teachers and loyal colleagues. Ní raibh a leithéid ann arís. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anamacha. RIP Terry, forever with Jennifer.
Terry was a scholar who practiced what he studied: May he rest in peace and may all those who mourn his death find comfort in Christ.
What a joy, privilege and inspiration to have known Terry during my time as Chaplain in U.C.C. He was a wonderful support and encouragement. I pray that he may encounter Jennifer in glory. May the saints and scholars and mystics, the writers, poets, artists and musicians of the Spanish Golden Age receive him and may he rest in peace. I’m sorry at not being able to attend as I am in his beloved Spain but I extend my sympathy to his sons of whom he spoke so fondly and to their wives and children. Muchisimas Gracias Terry. Joe
