Terence (Terry) Byrne

To the Byrne family and friends, Paddy and Karen. I am so sorry for your loss. A shining light has been extinguished from your daily lives. I had the pleasure of enjoying the amazing talent of Terence playing the role of a college professor Morrie Schwartz in the 2014 Viking Theatre play :
'Tuesdays With Morrie' a dramatisation of Mitch Albom autobiography, a journalist. Terrys role was to play Morrie, a retired professor now suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease (motor neurone disease).
This he did very convincingly and to this day I have the biggest admiration for the depth of talent required for this role. You were a very lucky family to have a true literary genius among you for the whole of Terrys life and I hope you can take some comfort in the gift of acting that he passed on to his fellow thespians and us admiring audiences.

Very sorry to hear about Terry. I worked with him in The Gate on Cyrano de Bergerac many years ago and we had hours of conversations together in the dressing room. He was a terrific actor and great fun to hang out with.

My condolences to the Byrne family, I knew Terry from when he directed Tartuffe with the Dublin Shakes. His acting in Tuesdays with Morrie was sublime. A fine director and actor.
