And one great memory of being on the Fastnet committee boat, where he sang a great song about "My father was the keeper of the Fastnet Lighthouse". A gentleman and a pleasure to chat with.

Sincere condolences to the family. As a very young man I did business with Terry when I was based in London. He quickly realised that I timed my visits to him to coincide with home rugger internationals and was very amused but he quickly became a co conspirator in arranging diaries! Years later I bumped into him again at the events in Cork surrounding the ICC 50 th anniversary. I was lucky to sit beside him on a coach into the city one of the nights and had a memorable chat with him. A man you never forgot after even one meeting. The epitome of an Irish gentleman . RIP

So sorry to hear of Terry’s passing. He was a lovely man. I remember my dad (Robert Barr) dragged me down to clean the bilges in our boat one Easter (late 80s) and we arrived to see Terry getting off our boat. He’d just cleaned the bilges on the wrong boat (he had the same type right beside it). Dad offered that I’d do his one but he refused. Always liked him after that! May he rest in peace. Michael.

Rick, Rob and family so sorry to hear about Terry passing away. I have many happy memories meeting him at the house in Killiney, out shooting or even in the office at JB. He was a true gentleman and a very warm person. I also know my father was very fond of Terry. Remember the good times.

Terry was an 'all round' person in the very best sense. As a highly successful business man, he used his talents widely to help others in a voluntary capacity. His work for the Lifeboats, for Irish Lights and for sport in general is well recognised.
He was also a highly competent yachtsman and I was privileged to have joined him at sea, on many occasions and in many places.
He is a great loss to his wife, family and friends.
