Sheila, Elaine, Mark, Derek and Family, my deepest sympathies to you all. I know how much you all love and will miss Terry. A larger than life character, always up for a bit of craic and fun. When I first met Terry and was introduced as Sue… he sang his response back to me with a very loud…’My name is Sue, how do you do?’. I had no idea what was going on but he found it so amusing. I knew we would get on and we did.
So many more great memories of holidays in Carne and occasions followed where Terry and you all welcomed me into your family. I hope you take comfort that Terry lived life to the fullest and was loved by all who were fortunate to know him.
Rest in peace Terry.

Terry truly was larger-than-life and will be so fondly remembered by his family, many friends, former colleagues, neighbours, golfing buddies and rugby mates. Generous to the core, Terry has left me with many fantastic memories.
As kids these usually centred around rugby - Sunday mornings at De La Salle Palmerston where Terry shared his love of the game with me, and countless others - or at Lansdowne Road where Terry would lift Mark and I over the turnstiles to hang out with the grownups in the North Terrace and watch Ireland getting well beaten yet again (it was the ‘90’s after all).
He was my 8:30am school shuttle - always upbeat, full of chat. True to form, 34 years later on a recent visit home, I fondly remember that very same chatty Terry insisting on dropping me into town so I wouldn’t be late meeting the lads in the pub…Terry wouldn’t stand for that.
Each time I was home I would drop down to the McNamara’s. Car in driveway => Terry home……No car => Terry in Carne!
While his last few years were undoubtedly tough, it’s notable Terry never lost his trademark humour and bonhomie so consistently evident since we first met all those years ago.
To the McNamara family, you are in our thoughts this week. It is such an incredibly sad time for Mark, Elaine and Derek. Our heart breaks for Sheila, a constant at Terry’s side over so many decades. Chantal and I are deeply sorry we can’t be in Dublin to celebrate Terry’s life well-loved and lived.

Dear Sheila and family, I am so sorry to hear of Terrys passing. I had the honour and privilege of working alongside Terry for many years in Allegro. He was well respected in the trade and never missed a trick. Always in good humour. We shared many cups of coffee over the years.
