Teresa Crowe

Terese was a good friend. The first time I met her was almost fifty years ago when I served her a drink before I joined the Gardaí when she was back in Thurles. Then I would meet her every St Patrick's Day in the BIG Apple. She was a great ambassador for Tipperary GAA ex pats in the US. She worked with Dr Burrill Bernard Crohn who gave his name to Crohn's Disease. I sent her a birthday card one time, to the Irish Broad who lives Abroad on Broad Avenue (New Jeresy) Rest in Peace dear Terese.

Deepest sympathies to Paddy, Eleanor & Mary, to Phil and extended Lanphier and Crowe families on the passing of Teresa. She was one of a kind and her name known all over NY, you didn’t have to play GAA for her help she had a heart that wanted to help anyone who asked for it. Peace to her kind soul may she rest in eternal peace.

If she got a dollar for every stitch she put in & every player she assisted, Teresa would have been a wealthy lady. For over 50 years in Gaelic Park she was like a 2nd mother to a lot of us, sorting out x rays etc at a time when very few if any of us had any paperwork. It was a different world when being illegal was the norm . She should be remembered for that cheeky smile, she was a true Gael. I'm sure she's up there with The Silver Fox, Brother Dooley, John Riordan,Jackie Salmon plus many others & she's laying down the law. Rest easy T.🙏

I was very sad to hear of Teresa’s passing. I loved meeting her whether in NYC or at home. An institution in New York. Loved by everyone associated with Tipperary. Fitting that we won the Liam McCarthy this year for her. 🔵🟡 Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis

Tom and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Therese's family.

Therese was an absolute character and I spent many fun days with her here in Ireland and on the streets of NYC. Through the J1 escapades she was a constant source of support and entertainment, especially on a Sunday in Gaelic Park!

There are too many stories to share, suffice to say she lit up everywhere with her friendship, her empathy and her sharp wit. She was a bright light and the world is dimmer for her passing.
