I remember well when Teresa arrived in Dunmore. She was known then as Teresa Jennings. I spent many hours with her doing my hair during those early years. She was always so friendly. My sincere condolences to her entire family.

My condolences to the Flaherty family of Dunmore on the passing of their beloved mother, Teresa. She was such a loyal listener to my late shows on Midwest Radio down through the years. From once she heard the signature tune, Teresa was in fine form and looking forward to the music and chat along the way! I want to express my grateful appreciation for the wonderful welcome extended to me when I called to Dunmore on Thursday night ...and a special thanks to her five daughters, Mary, Áine, Cora, Thérese and Fiona, and to the in-laws and grandchildren for their kindness and hospitality. I was fascinated by the affection the girls had for Knock, the home village of their mother, and the wonderful stories they related to me about many of the great characters in Knock that hold such a place in their affections. It was an amazing two hours of recollections and memories that are such a part of the Irish tradition and they are in safe hands with the Flaherty girls and their families. Moonlight in Mayo and The Tennessee Waltz will be played as a tribute to the genial and lovely natured Teresa on my Late Show on Midwest Radio on Sunday night. Rest in peace, Teresa.
