I was sad to hear of Teresa's passing. Regular visits to the shop is very much part of my memory of growing up on Main Street. It is said in time you won't remember much of what a person has said but you will remember how they made you feel. While I can't remember all the conversations, and there were many, I do remember the warm smiles and welcome that I was always met with in the shop from both Teresa and her husband. Teresa was a lady in every sense of the word. She always spoke with such pride about you Fr. Martin and she will be helping you more than ever now. I was often told Teresa was the girl who brought me to school on my first day. She had a wonderful shop with everything for knitting needles to slippers and school uniforms. We both retired from Main Street the same year with Teresa leaving a few months before us. A wonderful friend and neighbour. May Teresa rest in peace.

Fr. Martin. Please accept my sincerest condolences to you, your uncle Padraig and the extended families on the death of Teresa. She was such a dear lady with that infectious laugh Great memories of our family visits to Belturbet. Your mam putting on a lovely tea and your dad telling stories late into the evenings. On Sundays your family often called to us and to other family friends in Cootehill. A trip up to the lake at Shercock was also often on the agenda. Teresa and Ted enjoyed their days off. It was a pleasure to have known them both. They were so proud of you and they will help you through this difficult period of your life. May they both rest in peace.

What a great woman how well I remember my school uniform from Teresa’s on the Diamond her shop sold everything in clothing and she was always there to help you out before she moved her shop to the Main Street. May your wonderful memories sustain you through this sad time. What a wonderful mark she made on Belturbet. There will be lots of memories I hope people can share with you. She is safely home now all her work on earth done.
