Ms Hedigan in Star of the Sea gave a Christmas ornament (a sparkly red apple) to my sister and 30+ years later we still hang it on our family Christmas tree and we fondly reminisce about Ms Hedigan and our school days. She was a wonderful teacher. May she rest in peace 🕯️

I was so sorry to hear of the death of Teresa Hedigan. I was lucky enough to have her as a teacher in 3rd & 4th class and she certainly had a positive and formative impact on me. She was a wonderful teacher who got the best out of all of her students as she was able to connect with everyone in a way that made sense to us at a collective and individual level. She also knew how to make learning fun, which is a rare talent. Deepest sympathies to Fionnuala, Marguerita, Eilis, Mary, Manus, Michael and John and the rest of her family.

Remembering Miss Hedigan with fond memories of my Primary School days in Butlerstown N.S. A teacher ahead of her time…… showed us how to make & ice a Christmas cake , make and model a summer dress. Theresa, was our primary School Teacher & her Sister Mrs O'Sullivan, was our District school nurse with Dr. O, Brien-Mórán, Both Nurse & Dr were v respectful to us,, & so so kind, gentle, & very decent to us always. God Bless them,in Haeven.

So sad to hear of Teresa's passing. My sincere sympathy to Annie and all her nieces and nephews, particularly the Mulqueen family. Have fond memories of Cooraclare school fadó! When we were children, my late sister, Ita and I paid eagerly awaited annual Christmas visits to the most welcoming Hedigan home. I know now, but did not know then that we were distantly related. Teresa has now joined her mam and dad and her sisters in God's Heavenly Kingdom. Leaba i measc na naomh go raibh acu go léir.

I have such fond memories of this lovely lady as my teacher in Star of the Sea that I remember very clearly.
She was always so respectful of the girls in her class, had a wonderful sense of humour and was ever so proud of Co. Clare...and she taught us how to crochet among other crafts.
