Mrs Curtin influenced and guided us through stage performances and introduced us to all sorts of music and comedic material. She was talented at costume making and so committed to encouraging us in our performances. Rest in peace Mrs Curtin.

I remember her bringing us for dinner in Mosney and making sure we were all fed before our performance! She was so fantastic with the costumes and dress making and I remember the excitement when she produced the costumes every year for the dress rehearsals. She was a really positive mentor to many of us in Newbridge!

A lovely lady, will always remember her with great fondness.

I have such warm memories of growing up in College Park and being part of the Community Games Variety team, where Terry guided us with such positivity and enthusiasm. She had a wonderful way of encouraging each of us to embrace the experience and enjoy every moment. I always loved bumping into her on visits back home and sharing a catch-up. May she rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about Mrs Curtins passing, many many happy memories of competing in the Community games variety shows for Mrs Curtin's teams who was a genius at putting these shows together, an absolute lady of the highest standing.

We got to know her through the Community Games Variety and travelled with her and her teams to cheer them on in Mosney and elsewhere. She was the best dressmaker ever. Like many people my age who grew up in Newbridge in the 70s, 80s and 90s, our youth was dominated by Community Games. GAA, soccer, basketball, athletics, art, pitch & putt - whatever your interest was, it was catered for by CG. People like Mick O'Keefe, Mick Donoghue, Peter O'Neill, Phil Wolfe, Billy Bell, TJ Shinkins, John Donovan and Teresa Harrison (among many others) were our surrogate parents. For me it was Variety and Terry Curtin. Between 1984 and 1989 I probably spent more summers and weekends rehearsing under Terry's guidance than I did with my own mother. We performed for Terry in Newbridge, Naas, Crookstown, Maynooth, Kilcullen, Portarlington, Portlaoise, Portmarnock, Sixmilebridge, Carrickmacross, Carrick-on-Shannon, Togher and, of course, Mosney, winning the All-Ireland in 1989 (after a 4th and two 3rd places). I'm sure there are many more venues that escape me at the moment. For me, she was, and always will be Ms Community Games Variety. Between the Newbridge teams she managed, along with College Park A and B teams, there must be hundreds of Newbridge kids who have passed through her hands and they will all remember her fondly. I know she was involved in many other organisations, particularly the ICA, where she was equally loved and respected. Unfortunately, my own path took me away from Newbridge almost thirty years ago and the last time I met Terry was in 2019 but we had some lovely words together. She is an icon of the town I will miss her dearly.
