I got to know Terry through her husband Cathal ,who was one of my childhood football idols when he starred for Leitrim.

She was always by his side and continued to support Leitrim after his death.My last correspondence from her was a few months ago with 50 euro for the Leitrim Supporters Draw.

So sad to learn of Terry’s passing. Heartfelt sympathy to Clara and Dave and all the wider family circle. Terry was broken hearted at the death of her loving husband Cathal, while she and Cathal together had tried to overcome the grief of having lost their son Gary. Clara was a constant support to them as was Dave and other family members. Terry had met Cathal while he was training with the Leitrim team and it was love at first sight and a long and happy marriage ensued. Cathal went on to become one of the top players in Ireland, always proud to wear the Leitrim and Connacht jersey. There are countless happy memories of Terry growing up in Ballinamore, a charming, beautiful and friendly girl and a bit of a tomboy as well. She enjoyed her aunts, uncles, cousins and school friends and the people of the town.
May she now enjoy a new life up above. Solas na bhFlaitheas da h-anam uasal, cairdiuil.
