Since October 2018 the Diocese of Ossory has lost three priests : Fr. Nicholas Flavin, Fr. Pat O'Farrell, Monsignor Kieron Kennedy and our former Bishop Seamus Freeman. They all did wonderful work in our Diocese. May they rest in peace.
I am very sorry to learn yesterday of the death of Msgr Kieron Kennedy. I wish to offer my sincere condolences to his family, friends and the priests of the Diocese of Ossory, served by Bishop Niall Coll. All of us in the Diocese of Ossory are served by a most hard working and dedicated group of priests of which he was a prime example and who together help so many of us. May he rest in peace.
The Monsignor will be sadly missed in Freshford. Sincere condolences to all his family. May he rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to all deeply affected by the passing of Mgr. Kieron. Never afraid of making difficult decisions. A good man. A great support to Bishop Freeman during their time at St Mary's Cathedral. How fitting it was for him to return to the Cathedral before being laid to rest having beautifully restored the Cathedral. A great legacy to leave along with his great work for the marginalised.

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Monsignor Kierons sudden passing. He was such a friendly man, always with a smile and a chat for everyone. He will be sorely missed in our parish. Was very saddened to hear of the death of Msgr Kieron. A great and generous servant of the church, in England in his early days - a pioneer in housing for the poor, and latterly in kilkenny as President in Kieran’s, as Administrator in the Cathedral and as PP in Freshford. A very able administrator and friend to Kilkenny. May he rest in peace.
It is with deep sadness i write this im not a mass goer but did end up out in freshford when young alex rafter was sining the king when mon kennedy seen me he named checked me from d altar i was chiffed he married us renewed our vows cristened our grand children and indeed iur children he was a pure saint i believe their has to be a heaven bless you we had great fun when he was in st marys i allways thought he make a fine pope or cardinal what a wondedful man its mon kiefan we shiuld pray too indeed he performed his first miracel today our little add needs non verbal grandson went missing in waterford hotel mary asked fr k could he find him for us and he did just that and we went up tonight and going in the morn bless you mon kennedy and thank u for the wonderful memories st peter watch out mon kennedy will take over your job hes smile could light up troyswood a gentle giant a pure saint thank u fr mon kennedy and mary too
I am very sorry to hear of Mgr. Kennedy's death. He was such a good and loyal priest. A man of integrity. We shared many a conversation during our days working earnestly in establishing a NUI Maynooth Outreach Campus in St Kieran's Coolege. Well done good and faithful servant.
I am so sorry for your loss, Dorothy. I know you and Monsignor Kieron were so close and such great friends. He was a gentleman; on each occasion we met he received me with great warmth. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Kieron supported with advice, kindness and patience the various Groups within our Parish over the past seven years. Both Parish Choirs will remember him warmly for his loyalty and encouragement as will Ministers of the Word and Eucharistic Ministers. Monsignor Kennedy was responsible for improvements to our Churches and was particularly proud of our beautiful refurbished Parish Organ and the gold leaf paintwork in St .Nicholas Church.
