Sean actually visited us once in Canada with Syl’s Sister, Sr. Joan Bowles and it was lovely having him here. May his gentle sound rest in peace.

Deepest sympathy to Fr Seán's family and friends, especially to his brother and our good neighbour Fr. Pat.

Fr Sean's contribution to the early development of youth work in Ireland in the 70's and 80's was huge bringing professional and pioneering group work skills [based on his Leslie Button training in Sawnsea] into the National Federation of Youth Clubs. Together with Sr Joan Bowles, they provided a model of how a Diocesan youth service could be run which became replicated across the country. He was also ecumenical, reaching out to other traditions at a time when this was risky. He contributed to many leadership training courses, the training of trainers and national youth policy reviews with profound wisdom.
And you kept on giving of yourself to young people and the community for all the decades since then. What a wonderful gift of love to others. Sean, may you rest in peace.
