My sincere condolences on the loss of your Dad, Theo. He was the ultimate football man and more importantly a true gentleman who had time for everybody. His personality would light up a room and I'm glad to say that I had the pleasure of meeting Theo on a few occasions and always had a great laugh. I know both my brothers Harry & Marc would have known him very well and learned a lot from Theo over the years. I hope you are at peace now Theo. Sincere condolences to Gwen, Therese, Tommy and all the Dunne family. I’m so sorry to hear of Theo’s passing. What a gentleman. Back in the early 80’s I had the pleasure of playing ladies soccer with a little team which included Gwen and Therese Dunne called Cherrywood ladies. Coached and managed by Noel and Theo Dunne. At the time I had no idea of Theo’s background in soccer. To us he was a great, encouraging, supportive coach on the pitch. Little did I know he had bigger more important teams to manage.
At the time I was working part-time in Dunnes Stores in kilnamanagh and most weeks would see Theo and his lovely wife Gwen doing their grocery shopping. They always came over and had a chat with me. Gwen was a beautiful lady, It was plain to see how devoted they were to each other.
It was the early 80’s and jobs were few and far between. Theo even tried to get me a office job in Tayto as he knew I needed a full time job. Both lovely people. May they both rest in heavenly peace together. You are all in my prayers.

Sincere condolences to Tommy, Gwen, Therese and all the extended Dunne family on the passing of Theo. All I can say was he was a "great man". He is respected and admired by everyone, especially the young kids, he and the Doc nurtured into confident young men. I will always cherish my three phenomenal years with UCD, under his leadership. His laughter, good humour, expert coaching, S&C and general passion for the game was infectious. What he did for the league of Ireland, year after year in developing young players, will never be forgotten. A true gentleman who will be ever in my thoughts and the thoughts of the 100's of players who went before and after me. Rest peacefully Theo and say hello to the Doc!
