Dear Therese. You were an incredibly special person. Thank you for nurturing my love of music and choirs. Your encouragement to pursue music studies after school, then to teach and then taking me under your wing as a colleague was so influential. Even more so was your modelling of compassion, your ongoing support and your belief in striving for the best for our young people. I will think of you often as I sing and play music. Rest peacefully.
Very sad to hear of Thérèse's passing.
I have fond memories of her from when I worked in Loreto with Frank Lowe. I'll always remember her kindness, fairness and how supportive she was. What a lovely lady.

Sincere condolences to the family of Therese Dempsey. May she rest in peace. Olive Casey
Ms Dempsey was the Vice-Principal while I was a student at Loreto in Bray. As many have said, she knew everyone’s name, which left a lasting impression on us, because she saw us as individuals and not simply as a group of students. What I remember most about her was her sense of fun. The touch of a smile in her photograph reminded me of her singing her heart out during choir lessons or the times she played badminton with a group of us at lunchtime, throwing herself fully into the game and competing with abandon. How one person can have such a positive impact on so many. My condolences to her family. Rest easy, Thérèse.
Bhronn Ms. Dempsey duais orm in Loreto ag searmanas dheireadh na bliana mar bhí mé i mo chara maith ag scoláire eile a bhí ag streachailt le tamall. Bhí ionadh an-domhain orm go raibh a fhios aici! Thug sí mé féin agus cara eile liom amach le haghaidh dinnéir agus chuig an bpictiúrlann le buíochas a ghabháil linn. Bhí sí chomh cineálta agus ní dhearna mé dearmad riamh air seo. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis. ❤️

Ms. Dempsey awarded me a prize in Loreto at the end of the year ceremony for being a good friend to a student who was struggling for some time. I was amazed that she knew but she did! She took myself and another friend out for dinner and to the cinema to thank us. She was so kind and I have never forgotten this. ❤️
Deepest sympathy to all Miss Dempseys family and friends. She was tough, but kind and caring to everyone. She even tolerated my total lack of musicality and encouraged me to "mouth" enthusiastically in choir. Ni bheidh a leithead aris ann. May she rest in peace and enjoy the choirs of angels.
It is hard to express in a few lines the influence that Thérèse had on all of us who were privileged to know her in Loreto, Bray. She was the person who welcomed so many of us as new teachers to our school. She helped us to find our feet and was our role model in how to nurture and inspire our students.
She lived and breathed the Mary Ward values and was the heart and soul of our community. As many people have said already she was firm, but always fair and everything she did was for the well-being of our students. She cared about them deeply and they knew it. She matched a high level of expectation with a high level of loving support. She was the perfect mentor for students and teachers alike. Thérèse was consistently there for me professionally and personally through the ups and downs of life. My own children loved to visit her home where they were indulged royally on each visit. She was a loyal and caring friend to so many. All of us who knew her are very much the better for it.
She will be sadly missed but her legacy will live on in Loreto, Bray and beyond.
Rest in peace, Thérèse.
My sincere condolences to Therese family during this difficult time. Therese was such a vivacious character and friendly neighbour, both considerate and wise. She always keen to hear what the children had to say and we certainly will continue to miss her presence, kindness and stories. May she rest in peace.
It is with great sadness that I look at Therése's picture and realise that she has passed away. What a lady she was, with incredible talents, kindness and generosity to the core. I have many fond memories of Thérèse, both from school days, and in the years after. She was such a wonderful lady, full of kindness and compassion, always offering up her time when she felt you needed it. She had the warmest smile, and the heartiest laugh. I will miss her greatly. May her gentle soul rest now in peace. Xxx
Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Miss Dempsey at this very sad time.

Miss Dempsey was our deputy principal and a dedicated teacher during our time at Loreto Bray. We especially remember her passion for music, singing and how she knew everyone by name. She was firm but fair, compassionate, supportive and very kind. We were so lucky to have her.

May she Rest in Peace.
My sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Dempsey. She was an outstanding leader, a passionate teacher and a most kind person. She embodied the very essence of Loreto Bray with her joy of learning and her ability to recognise and nurture the true potential of the students under her care. She went above and beyond with her additional lessons for our optional music class outside of school hours in 3rd year. Her compassion when a family bereavement coincided with a state exam will never be forgotten. Finally, noticing that a nervous student had arrived a little later to collect her Leaving Cert results, walking out to the side gate to meet her and break that walk to the APA, while cheerily waving the brown envelope of results in hand was a true reflection that she led with a unique care and that she didn’t miss a bar! Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann. Leaba i measc na n-Aingeal agus na Naomh go raibh ag a hanam uasal. Míle buíochas, Ms Dempsey.
Deepest Sympathy to Therese's Family and to all who mourn her passing. May she rest in peace.

I knew Therese initially as the well loved sister of Sr. Annette Dempsey FMSA. I only met Therese in 2013 when Sr. Annette became a resident of St. Francis Nursing Home at Mount Oliver. Therese was a kind and loving support to her sister to the end. May Therese receive the rewards of her love and may her soul be seated on God's right hand. -

Ms. Dempsey was VP during my time in Loreto, over 20 years ago now, where she was a strong, reliable presence. She had high expectations and led by kind example, somehow innately knowing whether a stern word or a joke was most appropriate. Her capable, unwavering presence during such formative years had such a positive impact. I hope she knew that. May she rest in peace.
Ms Dempsey was the heart and soul of Loreto Bray. She was a kind and generous vice principal and knew the names of all the students. My sincere condolences to her family. RIP Ms Dempsey
Very sad to hear the news about Ms Dempsey. She was a wonderful lady. May she rest in peace
So sad to hear of Ms Dempseys passing. So many memories where our paths crossed in Loreto, most of which were her having to discipline my many wrong doings, but all were with the highest level of mutual respect. Ms Dempsey was the most amazing support to me when my own father died, I didnt appreciate it enough at the time. I always think of her fondly and will be forever greatful that I was lucky enough to have been a pupil in her time at Loreto. Rest in Peace Ms Dempsey. xx
I finished school in Loreto in 1978. Thérése was Vice Principal during my years there. She was kind, wise and had a great sense of humour. A great mentor, you could talk to her with any problem in the strictest confidence, knowing she would listen. She loved music. I was in the choir and she led many practices and recitals over the years. Therese had a great zest for life and had so many interests. She dedicated her life to looking after others, whether it was through education or looking after family. She was an amazing woman. I have so many fond memories of my school years. RIP Therese, you were one of a kind. Ann
May Therese rest in peace.🙏

Heaven has gained a very special angel. Thérèse leaves behind a multitude of ‘Loreto girls’ who have many precious memories to cherish - her fun-loving energy, passion for music (and French!), her warmth, kindness and uncanny ability to be there whenever we were in trouble. With nothing short of missionary zeal she supported us all - pupils, colleagues, family and animals. She made a powerful first impression on our young class when she stopped everything so we could hear a little bird singing his heart out on a tree outside. No matter how often I put the choir out of tune, she never asked me to mime rather than sing. Most of all, she was there in every way for any of us who lost a loved one (thank you for helping us through our tragic loss of Jayne). Now you are in heaven with all the people you lost over the years. I know you never realised the inspirational effect you had on all of us! RIP
My sincere condolences to Therese’s extended family and friends.

Therese was such a kind and caring person. It was a privilege to have known you.

Rest in peace Therese.
Rest in peace Miss Dempsey such a lovely lady.Condolences to all her extended family.
