Tom Twomey was nature's gentleman. We knew each other for many years in Dundrum, Dublin. I we had much in common. More than I realised. I too moved to Kerry, but further west, to Ballyferriter. Please accept my condolences. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dílis.

He was a true gentleman, a fountain of knowledge and had a great sense of humour. He will be sadly missed. Light of heaven to you Tom

So sad to hear of Tom’s passing. Tom and I had a long time common political interest when he lived in Dundrum. He was a loyal friend and a true gentleman.
We never met again after he and Clare went to live in The Kingdom but he and I exchanged Christmas card greetings without fail every year since. May you rest in peace Tom and thank you for your friendship.

Worked with Tom or Mr Twomey as I always knew him, in NUI in the eighties and nineties . I have many fond memories of conversations on all topics I have had with Mr Twomey. A nicer man you couldn't meet, a Gentleman and scholar, in every sense of the word. A Fount of knowledge on all things. It is said that when an old Man dies a library burns to the ground, that saying was never more appropriate than for Mr Twomey. Condolences to Mrs Twomey, Aidan, Deirdre and all the family.
