I served as Staff Side Secretary of the Departmental Council in the Departments of Fisheries & Forestry / Marine and got to know the staff of the Fisheries Research Centre, Abbotstown, including Dermot through that forum. My relationship with Dermot was always friendly and cordial. I wish to offer my condolences to the Kennedy family on the passing of Dermot, who has now been reunited with his beloved wife Ann.
