I had hoped to attend Eddie's funeral service in Mount Jerome this afternoon but circumstances outside my control didn't allow.

I hope the memories of happier times will be a consolation as you come to terms with your new found situation.

It was a pleasure to serve with Eddie in the early 80’s in Collins Bks, Dublin. He was a gentleman and so giving to help young officers with his common sense approach and experience.

Sincere condolences on your loss. I knew Eddie when I served with him in 2 FD Sigs Coy Collins Bks. He was inspirational to me as very green young officer. His professionalism and technical know how was outstanding, as was his good company and comradeship with all around him. .

So sad to hear of Eddies passing. He was a solid , grounded, dependable and mature presence in Collins Barracks, Dublin, back in the late 70's where he rescued some challenging situations without fuss. It was an honour to serve with such a fine soldier, officer and gentleman. RIP Eddie.
