Thomas Francis (Frank) Shields

To all of Frank’s family and friends. I was very sad to hear of his passing, he acted as my Barrister during my divorce and I’ll never forget his forward thinking, straightforwardness and kindness.
May he rest in peace.

We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Frank’s passing. We have wonderful memories. Frank was so gracious to us, a wonderful guide and and perfect host with such a great sense of humor.
We will keep you all in our prayers and send love to all.

Very sorry to hear of Franks passing. We first met Frank in the late 80’s as he graciously provided tours of Dublin to our family. His wit and charm will forever be remembered. Our sincere condolences to the Shields family. Our hearts break for all of you.

My deepest condolences to all the entire Shields Family. Frank was one of the best and a true gentleman. I have the fondest memories of meeting Frank and him being our tour guide around Ireland in 1987. 10 days of laughter, pints, gin and tonics and pure joy. May his memory be a blessing. Frank was a great friend at UCD - such a lovely man - engaging, witty, smart as a whip and great fun. With a conspiratorial wink he would draw you in for a chat and a laugh. He was debonair and rakish at an age when many of us were still clueless!I had lost touch over the years since leaving Ireland but I can picture him so very vividly and am so sad that he has left this earth so soon. Deepest sympathies to his family.

While we only knew him to see in Dooks Golf Club, it is clear from the very many messages of sympathy that he was an extremely affable person and much loved and admired by all who knew him especially his colleagues at the Bar who have lost a dear friend colleague.
To loose a son a such a young age is incalculable but you can take great comfort in the knowledge that he was so caring and professional in his choosen profession and did you proud among all his admirers.

Just heard about Frank… he was two years ahead of me in School.. a gentleman. Sincere condolences to you Frank & Mary and your extended family. Always remember my father talking of the unnatural order of a parent burying a son when my brother died suddenly at 17, something that only really became clear to me when I became a parent myself.
