I am saddened to have only just heard of TJ’s passing.
On behalf of the Synge Street Past Pupils Union I wish to extend to all of TJ’s family, our deepest sympathies.I wish also to express to TJ our profound gratitude and deepest appreciation for all his kindness to so many pupils over the years.
As a former student of his, I personally remember him with the greatest affection.

Fond memories of our time together at Princethorpe College come to mind. TJ was a wonderful colleague, always supportive and positive; a leader and a team player. My sincerest sympathies to all the members of TJ's family, his siblings, Bill and Mary and to the family of his late brother Michael in Drogheda. We attended national school together many moons ago. I saw him on his bike around Dublin when he taught in Synge Street CBS. He looked as fit as a fiddle. We had some pleasant chats any time we bumped into other.
He was such a pleasant person to meet. I am indeed saddened to hear of his passing. May his gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Sorry to hear your father has died Claudia. You sang so beautifully with us, the Kilkenny Choir on 10th December in St Canice's Church Kilkenny. Your Dad must have been proud of your talent & also your wonderful personality & warmth.

So sad to here of T.J. death ,lovely lovely Man.he Baptist our Doughter Margaret in Ballina one week after he was ordained in 1963,what a cold winter we had the Baptismal Font was frozen,what a shock he got??new to this, but our PP was keeping an eye on him and broke the ice the water was so cold he was afraid she would get cold.May he rest in peace.

I was a student of TJ's in the late 1960's when he was a english teacher and a basketball coach at Princethorpe college. It was only for a couple of years yet his teaching abilities and outgoing personality left a lasting life time impression on me..Deep sympathy to all his family and friends.
