My sincere condolences to Ger, Tom’s mother and family. You must be devastated at the untimely loss of such a wonderful person. I worked with Tom many years ago in the CRO but I still have fond memories of his beautiful smile and kindness. He was truly one in a million. I feels privileged to have known Tom. May he rest in peace.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Tom's untimely passing. My sincere condolences to his family and partner. I worked with Tom in CRO and I can only say again what an amazing person Tom was. He helped me out on so many occasions. He had a brilliant mind, was kind and considerate to all his colleagues, unassuming and humble, kind and considerate and the warmest smile. Tom will never be forgotten by any of us who had the good fortune of knowing him. Rest in Peace Tom.

Tom was a close personal friend of mine, for some 20 years. I am deeply shocked at his sudden passing, and I was privileged to have him as a close friend. He was kind, considerate, generous to a fault, and wise beyond his years. I will miss him terribly. My deepest sympathies to his partner Geraldine and to all of the McGovern family. I was so sad to hear of Tom's untimely death. Tom was an amazing colleague when I worked in the Company Law Unit of the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation. He was so knowledgeable, generous with his time and always obliging. He will be sorely missed. I extend my deepest sympathy to his family, Geraldine and his many friends.

I was so shocked to hear of Tom's passing last Friday. Tom was a true friend and colleague. I will miss him so much. He was interested in ourselves, our families always ready to give advice. Even if he didn't know the answer he would find out. He was very interested in the wider world, liked to read a lot and embraced change in technology. He was so grateful for any small help you gave him. ​​​​​In my opinion one of Tom's great legacies is the CRO Website. His attention to detail in keeping every form, leaflet, web page, publication, news item up to date. This is a great resource that Tom has left to the CRO, the Department and indeed the wider business community.
Unfortunately he will miss seeing his beloved Liverpool raise the cup or Ireland winning on the international stage. He loved stand-up comedy and of-course the cinema. I hope they have a good film society in Heaven for you Tom.

Tom was a truly remarkable and lovely colleague; a real pleasure to work with. I spoke with him often as he had such a wealth of knowledge and experience, which he shared generously, with clarity and insight. His advice has left its mark on Irish company law.
