My deepest sympathy to the Murray family on Tom's passing. I knew Tom for many years since we started the MIE in UCD in 1969. He was a real gentleman and always in good form. I looked forward to our meetings and will miss meeting him for a coffee and a chat.

My condolences to the Murray family and to Deirdre and Anji in particular on the passing of your lovely Dad. I've very fond memories hanging out in your Kitchen in Mount Merrion as a teenager and our lives overlapping at various stages afterwards, including our folks meeting later to enjoy your Dad's warmth and storytelling as well as holidaying together on various trips to France. A lovely man who always had a warm welcome and a smile, and will be fondly remembered.

It was with great regret that an infection prevented us from attending the funeral of my beloved uncle Tommy. We watched the beautiful ceremony on livestream, however. The magnificent talks by Angie and by two of his grandchildren, reminding us of the warmth and greatness of his character, and the glorious music, as well as the words of the priest, were wonderful, fitting and moving. Tommy was a joy in all of our lives. As children he was especially kind to us, ever offering a listening ear and quick to cheer us with a joke or encouraging comment. He was an exceptional man and we are all pained by his passing, but also delighted and relieved at what a wonderful way he went during a snooze in the sunny afternoon after a joyous lunch with family. He deserved that! May he now rest in peace, re-united with his beloved Kate. All of his family, to whom we send our dearest heartfelt condolences, are in our thoughts today. Philip and Helen
