We met Thomas in 2011 on our second visit to Kilrush and he gave us the warmest welcome when we knocked on the door of the Shannon house in Pound Street. He shared many stories with us and we left with some lovely cups from Kilrush Ceramics, a bottle of wine and some truly wonderful memories of a kind and gentle man. I had the privilege of meeting this wonderful man on our first visit to Kilrush more than 20 years ago. I was looking for family relations and literally opened the telephone directory at the Stella Maris hotel in Kilkee and found my Shannon relations. Thomas and Pat welcomed me in their home after confirming that I was indeed family. I connected with the Limerick family soon after. I have cherished these family connections for decades. May he truly rest in peace among his family in Shanakyle.
I am a part of his family that ended up in Texas but my heart is in Ireland.
