Tom was a wonderful person to know, and it was always a highlight visiting him and Phil whenever I was home in Ireland. He was a dear friend from my childhood on, always listened intently, and I recall all the great conversations we always had over the table. It was always enriching and very enjoyable, and on my last visit a year or more ago Tom was still very much the adviser and mentor he had become to me over the years. I will miss Tom greatly. May he rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to Tom’s family and friends on his untimely death.
I first met Tom in September 1963 when we were both part of a group of nervous but excited first years about to start boarding school in St Nathy’s. In later life, we became professional colleagues and worked together for the same firm from the late 1970s to the mid-1980s. Tom was instrumental in my decision to change career and move to the country at a time before it became fashionable to do so. As a result, Tom had a more significant and positive effect on my life than he perhaps realised.
May he rest in peace.
Our hearts are with you Phil, Stephen, Andrew & David. I have so many memories of my uncle. He will be greatly missed.

Dearest Andy, Marie-Helene and little Anna, my sincerest condolences on the death of your Dad, Father in law and Grandfather. Though poor Andy's Dad had been ill for a very long time, it is still a huge shock when it happens. The death of a parent is truly shocking and I do not think anything can prepare you for it. Mind each other, and Phil and Andy's family. Thinking of my three dear friends and sending big big hugs. May your Dad rest in peace. Love Niamh xx

Deepest sympathies to Dear Toms family; To Phil and his boys, his siblings, Johanna and grand children and friends and all that knew him.

He will absolutely be missed and will leave a huge hole in many lives which was the mark of the man. He left a wonderful legacy

Tom was one of my closest friends since the day I met him over 20 years ago. He was honest, loyal, filled with integrity, steadfast and dependable, wise, intelligent, discrete. He never spoke ill of anyone as long as I know him. He was old school in so many ways. He was also a force to be reckoned with if there was a wrong to be righted. It is the case that you don't and won't meet too many people like Tom in your whole life let alone be able to call them friend. He was a great friend to have.

He spoke about his family:(phil, his boys and grandchildren) every time we spoke. He loved you deeply!.

He fought illness bravely and carried on until the last. He was a warrior. He is resting now and well deserved. He is in good company now where he is in a place reserved for gentlemen.
Deepest sympathies to the Byrne family on the sad passing of Tom RIP.
Sincere sympathies to Francis Judy and all the Byrne family on the passing of Tom. May he rest in peace.
