He had a real honest and hopeful outlook, and he played the harmonica a couple of times for our kids. Always paused for a conversation and a word of kindness.

Such sad news. RIP dear Uncle Louis, a true gent with an amazing smile and a wonderful ability to make everyone feel special.
To our Mum, Clare, he was an adored older brother, who never stopped looking out for her, and looking after her, in so many ways.
And to us he was a very special uncle, visits were always eagerly anticipated, for the warmth, fun, laughter and, of course, his magic talent of making money appear in our hands!

Heartfelt condolences to Louis’ family on his recent, sudden passing. I have fond childhood memories of him at Dillon’s Cross, as his first nephew! Always warm, kind and good humored. Didn’t see much of him in later years, after I moved overseas, but always remembered him fondly. Just watched his memorial service online, and deeply moved by the words of Tom, Jr. and others; a long life well lived, who was loved and respected by all. Another legend from 7 Glenview Terrace moves on to his eternal reward! RIP Uncle Louis.

We are so sad at Tom's passing and will always remember him fondly as a great neighbour and friend to us. He lived a full life until the end and never failed to look his best, dapper and distinguished always. We will miss Tom and Lorraine dearly from our road...they were always so kind and welcoming. May they both rest in peace together now.

Condolences to Tadhg and all the family on Tom's passing. I hadn't seen him that much in recent years since I moved to California but always enjoyed visiting with him when I had the opportunity on trips back to Dublin.

Sincere condolences on the passing of Louis, a true gent who never forgot his roots. His was a life well lived and a stalwart of Monkstown golf club. Indeed, I often thought of Louis when taking on the back nine! The light of heaven to you, rest in peace.

May I pass along my deep sympathy to all the Carey and Caravousanos families on the passing of dear Tom. I add to my own sister Mary's comments as I shared the many laughs and fun times at our family home in Douglas with my Dad (Matt) in Tom's company. He always brought the hilarious stories along with him following the train trips from Dublin to Cork having managed to meet the strangest and kindest of people along the southbound journey to Cork. That Cork humour never left him. He was a wonderful friend to my own father. May Tom rest in peace.

We are so very sorry to hear this sad news. We have treasured memories of your dad, (always known as Louis to everyone in Moneyvolihane, Skibbereen), which are his great big smile to greet us and from there the excitement he brought with him, together with his sense of fun, wit and laughter that he shared so readily. Everyone in Moneyvolihane absolutely loved those visits, not to forget Louis’s meticulous style and his wonderful singing - true class.

My sincere & heartfelt condolences to you all on the very sad passing of Uncle Louis. As a very young child I remember he was always so kind and very generous. He always said" hold out your hand " and he would very discreetly give me a five pound note.

I have fond memories of your father calling to Nana & Granda Zinkant and of them looking forward to Louis Careys visit, the full title was always given never just Louis. The good china was out and Granda Willie would be waiting patiently for his arrival and as he walked down the steps Granda would shout Maura he's here and the house would be full of laughter in no time. It was always special when he called to Farranree.
