Dearest Tony, Suzanne, Ruth, Bill, Jennifer, Conor, Sylvia, Geoffrey, and Hazel, I am deeply saddened by the news of Tom’s passing. I will miss him breezing through the yard to milk the cows all while welcoming me home. He always looked like he was running a marathon. To borrow the former Queens words, it has been “an annus horribilis” in terms of the great loss and grief Tony and Suzanne have had to endure. Tom witnessed the loss of the love of his life Stella. This was shortly followed by the tragic loss of his beloved son Johnny. I recently visited Tom and could see he was a man dying of broken heart syndrome, one who was yearning to be with his beloved wife Stella and son Johnny. While we shall all miss Tom’s broad smile I pray he is happily reunited with beloved Stella and Johnny. For those left behind, Tony and Suzanne, I pray the grace of God will sustain you through this difficult transition of grief. You now have three newly promoted angels watching over you.
