Go raibh mile maith agat Tom.
You were a pleasure to know and be around. Always a story to tell and a bit of divilment to seek or share. A ready smile and twinkling eyes were emblematic of your kind nature and generous spirit. Though most of them never met you, you were a great friend to the pupils of Holy Spirit BNS Ballymun. You were always willing to offer support and guidance to a couple of young teachers taking their provisional licence in mentoring teams as well as steering us in the direction of subsidised (free) balls/sliotars/kit when funds were scarce or non existent.
My sincere condolences to all Tom’s family.

On behalf of the GAA, our deepest sympathies to the Fitzpatrick family on the sad passing of Tom. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Our sincere sympathy and condolences to Geraldine, Michael, PJ, Martin and extended family on the very sad passing of Tom. Not only was he a supreme gentleman, he was a caring, inspirational & dedicated teacher. I was blessed to have Tom as my teacher for teaching practice in 1974 and this proved to be the beginning of an amazing friendship for almost 50 years. Life was always full of knowledge, motivation and craic in Tom’s company. His passion and grá for Gaeilge and GAA was infectious and his great sense of humour & witty comments made him unique. Needless to say our children too adored him. We have lost a true friend forever. Ba duine den céad scoth é agus ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
Thar ceann chomhluadar na gcluichí Gaelacha i gColáiste Phádraig, BÁC, tráth dá raibh, is mian liom ár gcomhbhrón ó chroí faoi éag Thomáis a chur in iúl dá ghaolta, a chairde, agus a chomhghleacaithe. Ag fónamh mar Oifigeach Forbartha na gCluichí Gaelacha, chuir Tomás go mór le leas na ndaltaí léinn, na gclubanna agus na gcluichí chomh maith le reimsí eile de shaol an Choláiste. Lean sé ar aghaidh freisin lena chuid sár-oibre mar Stiúrthóir ar Chumann na mBunscol.
I mo cháil mar chathaoirleach an Chumainn, Ba léir dom go raibh éatas na gclubanna ginte go smior i dTomás, faoi mar a bhí freisin an aisling maidir le ról ár mbaill i leith na gcluichí rompu amach mar mhúinteoirí. Is é cur chuige an oide-múinte a lean sé agus, ag tarraingt ar a chúlra, a thaithí agus a phearsantacht ar leith, chinntigh sé gur baineadh amach na torthaí ab fhónta, lena n-áirítear a liachtaí dalta léinn ar chuidigh sé leo in am an ghátair. Níl aon aimhreas ach go mba ré orga eile i gcás na gcluichí a thréimhse sa Choláiste. Mairfidh oidhreacht Thomáis trí shaothar na ndaoine iomadúla ar fhág sé a lorg go doimhin orthu. Molann an obair an fear.

On behalf of the Gaelic games community in the College, formerly St Patrick’s College, Dublin, I extend our heartfelt sympathy to the relatives, friends, and colleagues of Tom Fitzpatrick. As the college GAA Games Development Officer, Tom contributed extensively to the welfare and development of students, the clubs, and the games as well as many other key areas of college life. He also continued his sterling work as Secretary/ Director of Cumann na mBunscol, BÁC.
As Club Chairperson, I was well placed to appreciate that Tom embodied the ethos that informed those clubs involved in Gaelic games, in all codes, and that he was imbued with our common vision for the potential of our members in their future roles as teachers. His approach was rooted in that of the teacher-educator and, drawing on his own background and experience, enhanced by his unique personality, he ensured that the best outcomes were achieved, including cases of individual students that he helped at critical junctures. His time in Pat’s can truly be described as a further golden era for Gaelic games. Tom’s legacy will live on through the ongoing work of all those that he so profoundly influenced. In his case, the work surely praises the man.

My deepest sympathy to all the family. I was so sad to hear about the passing of Mr Fitzpatrick as we new him from St Joseph’s in Terenure. He was so good to me when I moved up to Dublin from Cork at the age of 10! My love of hurling was a great passion we both shared and we showed that on the field for the next 10 years…he thought me life lessons on and off the field which I have now passed on to my family.
May he rest in piece… and pray that Clare win an All Ireland !

Sincere condolences to the Fitzpatrick family. Tom was such a lovely man. I have some great memories from 1998 to 2002 of bus and train journeys, training sessions, bonding sessions and matches with Tom as manager. He had a great sense of humour and it was a fantastic environment for us at 14-18 yrs of age.

Tom was a great friend to our father Fintan Walsh. They worked tirelessly together for the good of juvenile sports in Dublin and indeed the whole country. Fintan spoke with great admiration of his friend's creativity and ability to get things done. A notable example being the thousands of kids who have been thrilled by playing in Croke Park at half time on big match days. They have Tom to thank for that. So many people have Tom to thank for a lifetime of doing good. May he rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to you, Geraldine, and to your brothers and all of your families, following the sad loss of Thomas.
May happy and wonderful memories of times spent together be a comfort to you now and in the future.
Aisling has shared stories about Tom with us giving us a measure of the man he was and all he generously and whole heartedly contributed to family, education and sport.
May his gentle soul Rest In Peace.

Sincere condolences to all Tom's family and friends. Tom was one of the nicest, kindest and helpful people I have ever encountered in the GAA. My sincere condolences to the Fitzpatrick family and Tom's extended family. When I first got involved in the coaching of GAA in schools in Naomh Olaf in Dublin it didn't take long for me to hear of the great Tom Fitzpatrick. The level of respect and admiration held by all for him remains a standout memory. His positive impact on the GAA in Dublin and Dublin schools in particular was unequalled. It's impossible to put a number on how many children, families, clubs, schools and teachers have benefitted from Tom's life long love of our national sports and his unrelenting dedication and committment to the promotion of our games. It is very much appreciated by all involved at every level. Tom's legacy will continue to shape and form Dublin GAA for years to come. May Tom rest in peace.
Deepest condolences to Tom's family on his sad passing.

Tomás, who has gone to eternal reward, has been a good friend, a great resource and an inspiration to me for the past 22 years. May he rest in peace now. Tomás was a great educator. He inspired, guided and supported hundreds of 'Teacher Training Students' i gColáiste Phádraig. He had a great love for the "Gaeilge" and for all that was Irish in daily life. He was a great source of guidance, help and new ideas for students during 'school placement'. He was always aware of and promoted the great potential that each student possessed. He constantly built, encouraged and inspired. His office door was always 'open'. Always in good spirits, he brought out the best in everyone. "I leaba i measc na Naomh go raibh Sé anois." Sm.
Deepest sympathies to those who mourn Tom. An inspirational tutor to many referees over the years, whose assessments were honest and helpful appraisals. Great company with a jovial sense of humour. May you Rest in Peace Tom.
