So sorry to hear of Tommys passing - what a true Gentleman he was with a lovely smile. He always asked about my late mother as she grew older and spoke warmly about his sister Mary. Glad to be with Tommy my friend to the end of his life with his neighbour Pat o Connor. He was a gentleman and so appreciative of all his carers in Signacare and UHW. He was an independent, generous and interesting man with a great memory. A spurs fan who named eight of the 1960/61 team for me only 2 hours before he died. He will be missed by all who knew him. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

So sorry to be reading this sad news. I only got to know Tommy in the last two years, but I really enjoyed his company. He was a most intersting man, with a great love for Waterford. He also loved the radio and was well versed in current affairs, but also had a deep interst in 20th century history. He loved music and had a wide appreciation of a diverse range of artists and of musical styles. He had great memories of Waterford in the 50's & 60's and I regret now the fact that I didn't tape some of his stories and songs/poems. He was also a very kind and humble man and, even during the worst of his recent illnesses, always found the heart to feel for those who he assumed to be worse than he was!
I am sorry that I will miss his funeral and I extend my sympathies to his wider family, but most especially to his loyal friends Pat & Maurice.
