Tom's untimely passing has left a void in my life. He and I shared many hundreds of hours in lecture halls at NUI Maynooth, while pursuing our BA degrees. In all that time, Tom was a great person to be around, his sharp wit and good humour meant that he was always surrounded by fellow students. he oft times used tease me about something or other from the back of the class, yet, a response from me was always well recieved. Such diversions were a necessary means of getting through class and Tom, to his credit, could take a jibe as well as give one out. Anything untoward said to him in the heat of the moment would run off him like water off a ducks back. He liked nothing better than a bit of crack, and this, along with his propensity for laughter and fun, is a part of his persona that I will always treasure. God Bless you Tom.
My dearest condolences to my beautiful friend's family. Tom and I were internet friends, and chatted several times a week. He could always make me smile, even in the worst of times. I am so shocked and saddened that I will never hear his lovely voice again. Rest in peace dear Tom, I will forever miss you,

Dear Mrs. Kelly, this is Dolores who lived next door to you with Declan. I am shocked and so sad to hear of Tom's death. I can't imagine how lost you must feel at this time and I want to assure that you are in my thoughts and prayers now and always. I know that you were so proud of him and rightly so. He was a fine man and I enjoyed many good conversations with him. You were so good to myself and Declan, taking in our clothes from the lines when we were at work and making us your beautiful brown bread! It was like home from home. I hope you will be alright and I will call in to see you soon. In the meantime if you need anything let me know. I can be contacted at 086 9184410. Take care and give my love to Tom's children who I know he adored and was so proud of them both. Dolores Carroll XXX
