Deepest sympathies on the passing of Tom.

Tom was a great friend and colleague over the many years that we worked in, and travelled to and from, Portmarnock Community School, together.

Tom was a professional to his finger tips and held in high regard by teachers and students.

Hard-work, helpfulness and sound advice was the mark of the man.

As a family you organised the most beatiful Mass and the eulogies captured his essence.

My sincere condolences to all the Lundy family on the sad passing of their beloved Tom. He was an active and dedicated member of Dara Choir while his health allowed, and sometimes, even when it didn’t! Tom was a great support to me when I started in Dara Choir and will always remember his quiet words of encouragement and feedback. It was such a surprise to literally bump into him on the gallery stairs of Dalkey Church as he came to listen to our Christmas concert last December. The Heavenly Choir has surely gained its best new member. Rest in Peace, Tom.

So saddened to hear the news of Toms passing.
Tom was remarkable, he was the only person who could teach me maths.
I still remember his phrases "sloppy pint" and "use your eyes to factorise" to aid me in solving equations etc when I took grinds at his house early of a Saturday morning.
Tom was patient, professional, humerous and very kind.
Thanks to Tom and his perseverance, I passed my maths LC paper and secured my place in nursing in Trinity.

Really sad to hear this news. Tom was an excellent teacher, who cared deeply about his students. He gave up so much of his free time to give us additional classes in the build-up to the Leaving Cert. He had a great passion for teaching, and a lovely sense of humour to go with it.

15 years later, I can still hear his voice and his catchphrases such as "swing the base" for logs and "soh cah toa" for trigonometry.

My condolences to all his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Tom taught next door to me for many years in P.C.S. and I remember his great sense of fun when coming into my classroom, trying out his little bits of German, much to the amusement of the pupils.
