It was with great sadness that I learnt of the death of Tom Murphy.
Tom was my first cousin, and although life brought us on different journeys it was always great to see Tom when I returned to visit family in Wicklow (from Melbourne).
I knew Tom to be a gentle soul and a thorough gentleman; always caring and considerate. There was a fun side to him too, and I remember he had a warm, hearty laugh and a great sense of humour. As children we spent many a day together in ‘Addis Brae’, the Turner family home. They were happy times and are now happy memories.
My daughter, Lorna, joins me in expressing our deepest condolences to Tom’s brother, John, and to his extended family and many friends.

Such a lovely gentleman - nothing was ever too much trouble for Tom. He would help out at a moments notice in the parish and he loved working as sacristan. We will all miss his gentle presence, friendly smile and kindness- may his gentle soul rest in peace.
