My sincerest condolences to the O’ Connor’s- Eileen, Elaine, Thomas, Mike and extended family.
Tom was a staple part of my childhood- always next door, my mother would even say she’d come into the sitting room to check on me and I’d be gone, but she knew I was out next door! I’d often sit on the doorstep in my primary school days, Tom would be leaving for his day at the mart, of course I didn’t want to make the ‘long’ journey down the road to the Gaelscoil, Tom would always drive me down. On my visits home, not too long would pass before I’d be in the door to visit Tom where I’d always be met with a “how’s my girl” ready for his kiss on the cheek. Always a kind, gentle, relaxed man who knew everything about everything, a pleasure to know and to have spent time with, something I will always treasure. Hopefully next time I meet you Tom, you’ll be ready for your kiss on the cheek, sleep well my lovely neighbour x
