My sincere sympathy to the O'Donoghue family on Tom's death. When I joined Stackstown 10 years ago and played with him in our 'Turnip' Monday club, it mattered not to him that you were not the class golfer that he was. He was friendly and welcoming, a pleasure to know and play with. He was a true gentleman.

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He has not been the same since he lost his beloved Kitty. I had the pleasure of playing on many Stackstown teams with Tom over the years. My sincere sympathy to all the nieces and nephews of Tom on his passing. I met him firstly in 1959 when I joined Glenanne to play pitch and putt and later when I joined Stackstown. A lovely gentleman and great golfer. The life went out of him when Kitty died but now they are thankfully united. May they both sleep softly together.

Tom was a class act. A superb natural golfer. More than that, he was full of fun. He couldn’t resist slagging his Cork neighbors after being hammered by his beloved Kingdom in a Munster Final. So sad to hear of Tom's demise. I knew him well from Stackstown where as fellow kerrymen we regularly played together. He was a great golfer and I was privileged to be his partner on the winning J B Carr team of 2005. May he rest in peace.
