Sincere condolences to Shelia and family, also to Tom's brother David on the very sad and unexpected passing of Tom. A superb craftsman it was such a pleasure to enjoy his company and dry humour. Tom sang about leaving his heart in San Francisco, well he put a lot of it into the Men’s Shed where as another favourite song of his goes " I did it my way" He will be sadly missed at the Shed. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Tom may he rest in peace

I met Tom on one occasion through the Men’s Shed. They were looking for volunteers to paint a house and I some how ended up putting my name down.

I remember going in to the house nervously wondering how I had got involved given I’m useless at painting.

I said as much to Tom when I went in. I was embarrassed. Within a minute I was laughing. He put me completely at ease and made the few hours I spent there so much fun.

He chatted away and after one day I felt like I had known him years. He had a great sense of humour. Such a gentleman.

My condolences to his loved ones and friends. I am sure he is a great loss to you. Some people just make the world a better place.
