I served with Tom with the 3rd Field Military Police Corps many years ago. In the Barracks, Tom's entry would be met with glee, particularly from the other senior serving NCOs. and the atmosphere therein would be electric. One time, a serving member's bed was improperly made and the sergeant went to find the culprit to give him a warning. In the intermittent time, Tom had the young fella's bed made and the sergeant was speechless. Great evenings in Lahinch and in Tralee with Tom, whose sense of humour was brilliant. His booming laugh was infectious. I will miss him terribly.

Deepest sympathy to toms wife and family worked with him in limerick corporation and also Tommy was a former member of the limerick branch of the Irish referees society and a top
Class referee he blew his whistle so loud one night in jackman park a train pulled out of the station
Tommy came from good people and has now returned to them

It was with deep sadness that I became aware that Tom had passed away, and I would like to extend my deepest condolences to you all on the departure of your loved one. Tom joined the Clare Branch of the Irish Soccer Referee's Society around 1980 and was an invaluable asset to us all with his vast experience as a top class referee. He was very instrumental in my own career progression and I probably never thanked him enough. He could always be relied upon to come up with a few witty anecdotes to make light of a situation and I smile to myself occasionally when some of them come mind. So , farewell to you Tom, you were one of the greats and you will always be remembered with love and affection .
